Position Overview:
Repairs, maintains, and facilitates installation of industrial machines used in manufacturing and production operations.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
-
• Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible

• Must use all necessary personal protective equipment to safely meet job expectations and statutory compliance requirements

• Responsible for the tear-down and cleaning of gas compressors and gas driven engines.

• Uses hand tools, hoists, jacks, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, and power tools to tear-down and clean machines.

• Gathers parts for repairs or modifications based on blueprints
-
• Adhere to company policy, procedures, and rules
-
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
-
• Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirements
-
• Need minimal instructions of pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
-
• Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
-
• High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
-
• Thorough and broad understanding of gas compression equipment
-
• Detailed knowledge of Ariel, Gemini, CAT, and Cummins equipment preferred
-
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
-
• Ability to read and use a tape measure in US units (not metric)

• Ability to read and use a level
-
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
-
• Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
-
• Vocational school or Associates degree in related field highly preferred
-
• At least one year of experience required
-
• Prefer one year of successful apprenticeship training
Physical Requirements
-
• Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, and use ladder for long periods of time
-
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
-
• Vision required: 20/40 with or without corrective lenses to accurately read all related distribution documents
-
• Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machines
Working Conditions
-
• Subject to outdoor and plant environment with adjusting temperatures and climate
